Evelyn Quint, age 76, of Metropolis, IL passed away at her home Thursday, July 3, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born August 29, 1937 to Jeff and Lura (Lawrence) Kickasola, who preceded her in death.Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Sams officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gussie; Three daughters, Rebecca Bowman and husband Kent, Vicky McNichols Prowell, and Kim Sturgill and husband Cleason; 5 grandchildren, Josh Bowman and wife Jessica, Jennifer Bowman and fiancé' Josh Coble, Colton McNichols, and fiancé' Wailen Su, Nathan McNichols and Sidney McNichols; Two great grandchildren, Emma Bowman and Wyatt Bowman; One sister, Vida Mae Maess and husband Rueben; one brother, L.T. Kickasola both of Brookport, IL; and several nieces and nephews.She married Gussie on August 25, 1957, and was a member of the Heartland Worship Center in Paducah, KY. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who would do absolutely anything for her family, always placing everyone's needs before her own. Evelyn loved to cook; she never wanted anyone to leave her house hungry. Evelyn was the strongest fighter, overcoming many health obstacles she had to face. She has made her family strong through faith and we all know we will see her again up in heaven walking the golden path with her.
