Mrs. Eva Gurley, age 88, of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 9:52 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Massac Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Bro. Justin Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Gurley worked as a CNA for several years and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Eva is survived by four children, Brenda Collier and husband Jerry of Metropolis, Eddie Gurley and wife Carla of Temple Hill, IL, Marty Gurley of Metropolis, and Timmy Gurley of Metropolis; 19 grandchildren, Sherri, Terry, Jeff, Tammi, Kim, Tony, Rexanna, Timmy "Boo-Boo", Jason, Jeremy, Tasha, Misty, Kristen, Lucas, Amber, Becca, Lisa, Tracy, and Keisha; many great grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Estes, of Ponca City, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oris and Mae English; husband, William C. Gurley; four siblings, Joan Laird, Beatrice Marron, Donald English, and Dale English; three children, Barbara Anderson, Angela Harwood, and Jackie Don Gurley; one grandchild, "Little" Charlie Gurley; and two great grandchildren, "Little" Willie and Dustin. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2nd from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.
