Emma "Jeanie" Ellis. A wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, Aug 9, 2013. At Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family. Jeanie was a nurse for 35 years. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, canning, and being outside. She was a member of FUMC Metropolis.Funeral Services will be 12:00 Noon Monday, August 12, 2013 at The Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri. Burial will follow at the East Prairie Cemetery. Rev Jon Cockrel officiating.She is survived by her Husband of 58 years William "Bill" Ellis of Metropolis, her children, Betty Myers of Metropolis. Carolyn "Sue" Balfantz and husband David of Walker, LA. Billy Wayne Ellis and wife Marrilyn of Tower Hill, ILHer grandchildren, April Reed and husband Thomas - whom she helped raise, Curtis Myers and wife Crystal, Kevin Myers and wife Melinda, Angela Ellis and husband Joe, Bryan Balfantz and wife Mandy, David Balfantz and wife Jennifer, Tracy Burgess and husband Jason, Marcie Earles and husband David, Tasha Ellis, Deriek Ellis and wife Chyla, Kurt Ellis, Tony Ellis, Missy Johnson, Mandy Ellis, Jacky Peavler. She is also survived by Sisters, Lynda Lynn, Judy Hale, Peggy Callis, and brothers Joe Sterling, and Leon Sterling, and several great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her Parents, Jack and Kate Sterling, Daughter Pamela Ann Ellis, Son Tim Ellis, Brother Elmer Sterling and Tommy Sterling, Sisters Katherine Sterling, Penny Hayden, and Angel MillerVisitation will be Sunday August 11, 2013 from 6:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. at The First United Methodist Church in Metropolis, Illinois. There will also be visitation from 11:00A.M. until the Funeral hour on Monday, August 12, at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, MO.
