IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth Mae
Wallace
August 3, 1935 – January 18, 2025
Elizabeth Mae Wallace, 89 of Brookport, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Davenport officiating.
Elizabeth was born on August 3, 1935 to Eddie and Louise Dotson at home with a midwife in Potosi, Missouri. She spent her summers on her grandparent's farm and learned to play the pump organ at a very young age while her sister Annetta worked the pedals. Her first song was "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" and she learned from hearing the song played first and could then play it afterward. She was of Baptist faith and enjoyed singing and playing the piano in church for the majority of her life with family and friends.
Elizabeth graduated from Potosi High School in 1953. She worked for 20 years at EEI, Inc. as an administrative assistant until her retirement. In recent years, Elizabeth became a bit of a "sports fanatic", enjoying watching golf, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and St. Louis Blues hockey.
Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters, Mary Annetta Hockman nee Ray, Barbara Sue (Steve) Olroyd nee Ray, and Crystal Renee (Shane) Davenport nee Ray; six grandchildren, William "Billy" George (Cara) Paymaster, Rebecca June Reed nee Olroyd, Rachel Elizabeth (Houcine) Idoublal nee Olroyd, Michael Drake Davenport (Lauren Hodges), Thomas Bryce Davenport (Josie Walker), and Jillian Renee Davenport; four great grandchildren, Nora Reem Idoublal, Amira Fatima Idoublal, Eliza Grace Reed, and Zayd Houcine Idoublal; one niece, Deborah (Phil) Schalamon; one great nephew, Adam (Dylan) Brewer and their family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life for 26 years, L.G. "Mr. Democrat" Wallace; and her sister, Annetta Humphrey.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21st at the funeral home.
