Elizabeth "Ruth" Lewis, age 90, of Metropolis, IL, died at 10:17 pm on January 25, 2020 at Mercy Health Lourdes in Paducah, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Russell Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Leslie Lewis Flippin and husband Jim and Connie Kirkland; one son, David Lewis; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Foss Cohoon; four grandchildren, Cindy Flippin Patterson, Candy Flippin Tyra, Brandon Lewis, and Jessie Lewis; nine great grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth Patterson, Reid Patterson, Hunter Patterson, Walker Jay Patterson, Lucy Helton Tyra, John Trotman Tyra, Davison Tyra, Mary Leslie Tyra, and Austin Kirkland; two sisters, Imogene Gill and Wanda Lee Shadowens; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Frankie (Kilgore) Pennell; husband, Lester Lewis Jr; grandson, Clint Kirkland; sister, Geraldine Pennell; brothers, Troy Sherman Pennell and Roy Herman Pennell.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
