Elaine Manley, age 82 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 12:25 am on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the Metropolis Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Dunning officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Elaine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a retired nurse, having worked at the Massac Memorial Hospital and Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was member of the Metropolis First Methodist Church, where she served as custodian for several years.

Elaine is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Jim Manley; daughter, Andrea Underwood and husband Spencer; sons, Carl Manley and wife Amy and Alan Manley and wife Julie; grandchildren, Nicole Underwood, Andrew Manley, William Manley, and Jillian Jones; sister, Brenda Cohoon; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ruth (Adams) Borem; sister, Ann Laird; brother, Donald Borem; an infant brother.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in Elaine's name to First Methodist Church, 100 East 5th Street, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.
