Edward Dean Walker 91, of Metropolis passed away at 7:25 A.M. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Southgate Nursing and Rehab center in Metropolis. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at The Metropolis First Baptist Church with Rev. Louis Brinker and Rev. Brandt Lyon officiating. Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Military Graveside Rites. He is survived by wife of 68 years, Virginia Pauline (Robinson) Walker, daughter Debra Riddle of Vienna, IL. Two sons Tim and Eva Walker of Paducah, KY, and Drew and Tracy Walker of Metropolis, IL. 8 grandchildren, Krista Huckleberry and Kelly Hunsaker of Vienna, IL, Rebecca Mercer of Asheboro, NC, Kelli Mills and Bethany Jones of Paducah, Raymond Walker of Metropolis, Evan Walker of Carbondale and Keaton Walker of Edmond, OK; 13 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. One sister Betty Hudgens of Edwardsville, IL. One Niece J'Deanna Twesten. Two nephews Kent and Mark Mullinix.Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Verna Walker, son in law David Riddle, two brothers in law, Bill Hudgens and Marvin Mullinix, one sister in law, Mildred Mullinix; one niece Charnell Woelfel.Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, November 30, 2015 at Aikins Farmer Funeral Home with Masonic Rites at 6:00 P.M. There will also be visitation from 10:00 A.M until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the Church.Edward was a member of Masonic Lodge 91 in Metropolis and Desoto, IL; Member of First Baptist Church. U.S. Army veteran, serving during WW II in Australia, Japan, and the South Pacific and retired from Electric Energy Inc. in 1986 after 33 years.
