Dwight Roger Atkison, 71 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

There will be no services.

Dwight was retired from AEP Cook Coal Terminal.

Dwight is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Robin Atkison; son, Matthew Atkison and wife Natalie; grandchildren, Ashe Atkison, Camryn Windings (Connor), Matthew D. Atkison, and Ethan Atkison; great grandchildren, Eden Windings and Esther Windings; brother, David Atkison; and nephew, Corey Atkison.

He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Atkison; mother, Robert Atkison; and son, Jeremy Atkison.
