Dorothy was born on June 1, 1932 in Boaz, IL, to Robert and Gussie Guinn. She was residing in Boaz until she met her husband-to-be, William E. Myrick. They were married on September 10, 1947. William felt the calling of the Lord and entered into the ministry in 1957. Dorothy loved being a pastor's wife. She was active in the community, loved to sing in the choir and witnessing for Christ.
Dorothy started a gospel singing group called "The Inheritors", traveling and sharing her gifts for over 4 years. She continued serving the Lord, witnessing, and singing in church choirs for the remainder of her life. Singing brought her great joy.
She stood resolutely by William's side for 38+ years. He died in January 1997 shortly before their 50th wedding anniversary.
Dorothy married Paul McCoy on September 25, 2008 in Davenport, IA. They moved to Surprise, AZ in 2009 to enjoy their retirement. They traveled, enjoyed the sunshine, and made friends in the community. Paul died in April 2018.
She spent her days traveling, quilting, baking and was an avid reader. She was a fierce fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Arizona Coyotes hockey, and Arizona Cardinals football.
Dorothy spent 35 years an award-winning Avon sales representative. Her awards are countless from Mrs. Albee to President's Club. She was a very active member of the Church on the Green, Sun City West, AZ, until her death.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Brenda McCoy (Michael), William Myrick (Kim), Richard Myrick (Denise), and Bryan Myrick (Penny); 8 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E> and Gussie M. Guinn; her husband, William E. Myrick; her husband, Paul E. McCoy; her brothers, Loren E. Guinn and James E. Guinn; sister, Lowanda M. Simmons.
