Doris Ann Norsworthy, 71 of Brookport, IL, left this earth on April 6th, 2026.

She was born September 21st, 1954, to John and Betty Stallings. Doris was a force to be sure. She was as stubborn as they come, and as fiercely independent as only a mother who raised three children on her own could be. She did so without complaint, as her children were her whole world.

When asked of her career, it was simply, she did whatever she had to do to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. After successfully raising her children, Doris continued to show her fierce love of family by providing care for the ones she loved so dearly. If she saw a need, she did everything in her power to fill that need. Doris always put other’s needs above her own, and never slowed down there because, to her, there wasn't time for that.

Even when she was being maddingly stubborn, Doris was loved just as fiercely by her children and family. Life knocked her down and broke her heart too many times to count, but she got right back up because she didn't know how to quit. Stopping was never an option. Her favorite had become the care of her grandbabies. No matter their age, they kept a smile on her face and always knew they could count on Nana/Nanny.

Doris leaves behind her greatest pride, her children, Stacy Yates of Brookport, IL, Michelle Shoulta (Jason) of LaCenter, KY, and Shawn Fairfield (Autumn) of Paducah, KY; Her mother, Betty Jane Stallings of Brookport, IL; grandchildren, Jessica Wright (Aaron) of Paducah, KY, Laken Sharp (Josh) of Hillerman, IL, JD Ward (Madison) of Brookport, IL, Winter, Tristan, and Ryker Fairfield of Paducah, KY, Cole Ford (Jayla) of Paducah, KY, Chance Ford of LaCenter, KY, Dustin Shoulta of Paducah, KY, Madilyn Wyman (John) of Melber, KY, Boden Shoulta (Allison) of Wickliffe, KY; her very special blessings, several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was met at heaven's gates by her father, John O Stallings; brother, Ronnie Stallings; sister, Darlene Stallings; the love of her life, Steve Norsworthy; and many more beloved family and friends.

Her passing crashed into the hearts of the family she leaves behind, and the loss will be forever felt until the day they too will see her again. Rest now Momma.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Otterbein Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday, April 10th at the funeral home.
