Mr. Donald Lee Laird, age 84, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Metropolis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Frank Forthman officiating. Burial will follow with military rites.Mr. Laird was born August 19, 1931 in Massac County to Guy and Mabel (Sielbeck) Laird and married Joan Laird in February 1952. Donald was an Army Korean War Veteran and attended Upper Salem Methodist Church. He was a retired truck driver for Bonifield Trucking.Donald is survived by his son, John Laird and wife Ann; two grandchildren, Jackie Laird and Ginger Meeker and husband Michael; two great-grandchildren, Chelsie Meeker and Seth Meeker; three sisters-in-law, Bonnie Estes, Eva Gurley, and Margie Walton; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; stepfather, Howard Laird; one brother, Virgil Laird; one sister, Dorothy English.Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to Lourdes Hospice, P.O.
