Mr. Donald Eugene Fairfield, age 75, of Brookport, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at his home.Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Aikins Farmer Brookport Chapel. Pastor Jeff Bealmear will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Donald was married to Marilyn Sanderson on September 25, 1982. He was a member of the local Masonic Lodge Post 91 and the Metropolis Shriner's.Donald is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marilyn; 2 daughters, Cindy Fiacco of Summerville, SC and Jean Borders of Metropolis; 3 grandchildren, Lisa Fiacco, Alan Borders and April Massie; 3 great grandchildren, Cailen Massie, Kira Massie, and Maliah Massie; 1 brother, Larry Fairfield of Branson, MO; 1 niece, Darla Kay Goldsmith; 1 nephew, Donald Wayne Fairfield; several great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Zina and Myrtle (Bryant) Fairfield and his sister, Carrie Mae Farris.Visitation will be held at the Aikins Farmer Brookport Chapel on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. Masonic Rites will be held at 6 p.m.Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association Greater IL Chapter 8430 W.
