Donald L. Borem, age 68 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away Friday evening January 16, 2015 at his residence.Graveside services with military rites will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis, Illinois. Rev. Jon Cockrel will officiate.Donald worked in the construction industry for many years and retired from Harrah's Casino. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis, American Legion Post #306, and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving during the Vietnam War.Donald is survived by 3 sisters, Elaine Manley and husband Jim of Grantsburg, IL, Brenda Cohoon of Metropolis, IL, and Ann Laird and husband John of Metropolis, IL; 4 nieces; 6 nephews; several great nieces and great nephews.Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ruth (Adams) Borem;an infant brother, Harold Andrew Borem; brother-in-law, Larry Joe Cohoon.There will not be any visitation.
