Ms. Dimple Lenoris Russell, age 90, of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Southgate Health Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Rev. John Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Lenoris is survived by her daughter, Gela Russell and husband Steve Godwin of Morgan Hill, CA; 3 sisters, Eva Eulean Baker of Metropolis; Merna Shepler of Metropolis; Ellen Orr of Louisville, KY; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; sister in law, Martha Moncrief and husband Rev. Thomas Moncrief of Cleveland, TN; A special thank you to the caregivers, Sharon Loe, Shelia Sharp, Jadyn Meeker, Mandy Wolfe, and long time giver for over 10 years, Pearl Davis for understanding and listening to my mother.Lenoris was preceded in death by her parents, Henry B. and Nana Garrett (Throgmorton) Henson; Her husband for 54 years Oliver "Ollie" Russell; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Bert Dismukes; brother, Jester Bryan Henson; 2 sisters, Alma Schneider and Karen Neal Skinner.Lenoris and Ollie worked in the war plants in Evansville, IN and operated the Kersey/Russell grocery store on E. 5th street in Metropolis.
