Delbert Ray Sullivan, age 81 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 7:30 am on Monday, May 22, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family. Delbert was born on Crow Hill in Massac County on May 6, 1942, the son of Ray and Florence Sullivan.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Lakeside Cemetery, 3494 Liberty Ridge Road, Metropolis with Steve Karraker officiating.

Delbert was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a local businessman for many years and a member of the Metropolis Church of Christ.

Delbert is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Linda (Haverkamp) Sullivan; three daughters, Terry Overton and husband Mike, Tracy Burkhart and husband Sammy, and Tina Caldwell and husband Doug; six grandchildren, Sam, Logan, Trace, Sami Jo, Shelby, and Shaun; five great grandchildren, Lexi, Lily, Xander, Archie, and Everleigh; two sisters, Margie and Carol and husband Bill; one brother, Jerry; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Florence Mae (Vaughn) Sullivan; one sister, Rosalie; two brothers, Tommy and Scott.
