Mr. Darin W. Gray, age 43, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Community Christian Church in Metropolis with Revs. David Krueger and Mike Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Darin was a maintenance manager at EEI and a member of the Community Christian Church in Metropolis. We was also a member of Masonic Lodge #91 where he served as Past Master, Metropolis Elks Lodge #1428, and the Metropolis Country Club. Darin is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lori (Lewis) Gray; three daughters, Addison, Makenzie, and Sadie Gray; parents, Gary and Sherry (Barnhill) Gray; sister, Heather Deckard and husband Drew; mother and father-in-law, Russell and LuAnn Lewis; sister and brother-in-law, Shawna and David Herron; grandmother-in-law, Gerry Kersey; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.D. and Virginia Barnhill, James E. and Mel Davison, and M.W. "Slim" Gray; and grandfather-in-law, Bob Kersey. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites held at 5:45 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be given to the Metropolis Elks Lodge #1428 for The Children's Care Program 104 W. 4th Street Metropolis, IL 62960.
