Mr. Dan Mizell, age 87, of Metropolis, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 07, 2015, at Southgate Health Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Revs. Louis W. Brinker and Jack Hankins officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Mr. Mizell was a member and deacon of Metropolis First Baptist Church and an Air Force Veteran.Dan is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pat Mizell of Metropolis; 3 children, Taunjia Tinsley of Paducah, KY, Danny Mizell and wife Brenda of Metropolis, and Diane Roberts of Paducah, KY; 4 grandchildren, Jamie Beale and husband Greg of Paducah, KY, Monica Vinyard and husband Christian of Paducah, KY, Sean Mizell and wife Jamie of Metropolis, and Ryan Roberts of Paducah, KY; 9 great-grandchildren, Lindsay Weeks, Davis Beale, Mason Vinyard, Braden Vinyard, Grant Vinyard, Jase Mizell, Adan Mizell, Hadyn Roberts, and Ely Roberts; several cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Opal Mizell and sister, Roberta Mizell.Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Metropolis First Baptist Church 307 Massac Creek Road Metropolis, IL 62960 or American Parkinson's Disease Association Midwest Chapter 1800 N.
