Curtis Stratmeyer, age 59 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 11:57 am on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Forthman Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Curtis was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, served on the Massac County Fair Board, retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation, and was a life long farmer.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carmen Stratmeyer; son, Dustin Stratmeyer and wife Brett; daughter, Katelin Stratmeyer; granddaughter, Emery Stratmeyer; sister, Debra Travis and husband Bobby;  nieces and nephews, Dee Dee Wrye and husband James, Billy Travis and wife Julie, Matt Stratmeyer and wife Brandi, Marc Stratmeyer and wife Heather, Lora Jacobs and husband Jason; several great nieces and great nephews.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Deloris (Buldtman) Stratmeyer; brother, Dennis Stratmeyer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday evening April 13, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home and on Sunday from 1 pm to the funeral hour at the church.

Pallbearers will be Drew Quint, Kevin Logeman, Steve Foss, Larry Markus, Billy Travis, Will Bunting, and Jeff Korte.
