Mr. Curtis L. Medley, Jr, age 72, of Metropolis, IL, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at his home. He was born January 9, 1943 to Curtis L. Medley Sr. and Agnes Harris Medley-King. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Rev. David Siere officiating. Military rites will follow. Mr. Medley was a graduate of Brookport High School. Curt was a veteran of the United States Army. After serving his country, he made a career as a heating and air conditioning repairman. He lived and worked in Anchorage, AK, along with several other states. His friends and relatives loved him for his sense of humor and bubbling personality. His daughter, Karen, talked with him every Sunday and he became a supporter of her Feed the Homeless project in Anchorage.Curt is survived by his daughters, Karen R. Garcia and husband Peter of Anchorage, AK, and Jessica Medley of Terre Haute, IN; his siblings, Elizabeth Madison, Sylvia Emerson and husband Sam; 5 grandchildren, Ronnie, Alex, Harper, Isabella, and Amelia; his aunt, Odessa Rushing and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wives, Amy Paris and Cathy Dowers, along with his dear friends Margaret Bradford and Rita McCoy, whom he loved dearly. A special thanks to them for their love and support throughout the years. Curt was a man of faith and a believer in Jesus Christ. "So remind me of his passing when it's time to go, so that even goodbyes will be everlasting."He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters, including Lynda Medley Dycus.Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14 at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.
