Christine Grace Damron, age 80 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 6:59 am on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Metropolis Health Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, IL. Amon White will officiate. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery.Christine worked at the Good Luck Glove Factory, in the Kitchen at Massac Memorial Hospital, and retired from the Laundry Department at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of the Broadway Church of Christ in Metropolis.Christine is survived by her husband, Charles E. Damron; 3 daughters, Marilyn McRae, Bonnie Sue Martin, and Kathy Mitchell; 1 son, Stephen Damron and wife Roberta all of Metropolis, IL; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Evelyn Tanner of Metropolis, IL and Ernestine Johnson of West Moreland, TN; 1 brother, Lindell Oliver of Grand Chain, IL; several nieces and nephews.Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Grayson and Alta Mae (Sexton) Oliver; 1 son, Allan Eugene Damron.Visitation will be held on Sunday evening December 14, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, IL.Pallbearers will be Jake Ervin, Hillary Cheatham, Justin Abrams, Andrew Owen, James Eickleberry, and Maurice Tillie.Online condolences may be left at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com
