Charles Leroy Kommer age 64 of West Paducah, Ky. passed away Thursday Oct. 1, 2015 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tn. with his family by his side. He was born to Charles F. and Lettie Allene (Medley) Kommer on February 23, 1951.Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Tipton and Bro. Kevin Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Mr. Kommer is survived by his wife of 17 years, Margaret (Harville) Kommer, his father, Charles F. Kommer of Metropolis, IL Three children, Chad Kommer and wife Jessie of Metropolis, IL, Jill Lewis and husband Eric of Hillerman Community, and Jennifer Burnett and husband Danny of Paducah, KY; one brother, Bradley Kommer and wife Cheryl, Four grandchildren, Payton Adams, Tori Adams, Libby Lewis, and Januari Burnett; two nephews, Jacob Kommer of LaGrange, KY and Daniel Kommer of Paducah, KY; one aunt and uncle, Wayne and Betty Faughn of Metropolis, IL; Mother in Law, Ethel Harville of Joppa, IL; two sister and brother in laws, Melanie Barnett and husband Jerry of Hillerman Community and J.R. Harville and wife Teresa of Joppa, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother Lettie Allene Kommer. He was a member of the Spring Bayou Baptist Church in Kevil, KY and he belonged to the 4 Rivers Flight 9 camping group and was retired from E.E.I. after 39 years of service as a control operator. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and traveling.
