Obituary

Dr. Charles John Isoline, 87, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015. He was born on November 2, 1927 to parents John and Lillian (Venters) Isoline in Harrisburg, Illinois. After graduating from Harrisburg High School, Dr. Isoline served as an Army paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division. He attended the University of Illinois where he received his undergraduate and Master's Degrees. He received his Doctorate from the University of North Texas. Dr. Isoline married Norma Jeanne (Buddenbaum) Isoline on December 27, 1952, at the First Baptist Church in Metropolis, Illinois. He spent his professional life in the field of art education. He taught at Texas Christian University for 12 years, and then for 19 years at Baylor University, in Waco, Texas, as a Professor of Art. He was a member of the National Art Education Association and the Texas Art Education Association. For the past 10 years, Dr. Isoline and Norma have resided in Sun City, Georgetown, and have been members of the Worship Place. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Isoline and a sister, Bessie LaVeau. He is survived by his wife, Norma; son Dana Isoline (Charlotte); daughters Julie Johnston (Steve) and Jane Isoline Webb; grandchildren Evan Isoline, Aaron Isoline, Taryn Zeidman (Justin), Ryan Johnston and Raven Isoline Webb.Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home, 414 Metropolis Street, Metropolis, IL. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites.Visitation will be held on Friday evening March 27, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Pallbearers include Dana Isoline, Evan Isoline, Aaron Isoline, Steve Johnston, Ryan Johnston, and nephew John LaVeau. Honorary pallbearer is Jane Isoline Webb.
