Charles E. Damron, age 84 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 8:50 am on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Miller-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with David Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery.

Charles had worked at the Good Luck Glove Factory in Metropolis and was retired as a truck driver with Ferrell Gas Company. He was a member of Broadway Church of Christ in Metropolis.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Marilyn McRae of Marion, IL, Bonnie Sue Martin and Kathy Mitchell both of Metropolis; son, Stephen Damron and wife Roberta of Joppa; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Meinders and husband Wayne of Metropolis; several nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Garnie N. and Muriel E. (Cagle) Damron; wife, Christine Grace Damron; son, Allan Eugene Damron; brother, Bobby Damron.

Visitation will be held on Saturday evening February 23, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Miller-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis.
