Charles Edwin Culver, age 80 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 12:11 pm on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital. He was born on September 20, 1936 the son of Willy and Ophia Comer Rushing Culver. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home. Rev. David Deem will officiate. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery. Charles worked at Missouri Portland and Bailey Construction. Charles is survived by his wife, Donna Kay Culver of Metropolis; sons, Randy Harris and wife Teresa and Richard Culver and wife Lesley all of Brookport; grandchildren, Crystal Baird, Natalie Harris, Slade Culver, Celeigh Culver, Candace Jones and husband Brad; great grandchildren, Blake Baird, Sissy Baird, Jenna Baird, Laynee Baird, Kynlee Harris, Devin Heine, Colton Jones, Cooper Jones; sister, Billye Pollard; sisters-in-law, Margaret Pogue and husband Dan, Judy Kommer; several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil Rushing and Leon Rushing; sister, Catherine Lindsey; mother-in-law, Ruby Kommer; grandson, Caden Culver. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Pallbearers will be Randy Harris, Richard Culver, Crystal Baird, Slade Culver, Blake Baird, and Natalie Harris. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
