Chad Lewis, 47, of Metropolis, Illinois, passed away at 11:11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Massac Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home, with Adam Faughn officiating. Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Chad served as the Philanthropy Manager at Massac Memorial Hospital and attended Central Church of Christ in Paducah. A passionate advocate for his hometown, he proudly served as Alderman for Metropolis Ward 4 and contributed to numerous community organizations, including the boards of Massac Youth Football and the Greater Metropolis Convention and Visitors Bureau. He was also a member of Elks Lodge #1428, where he was serving as Exalted Ruler.
Known for his infectious personality, Chad had a remarkable ability to light up every room he entered. Whether serving his community, supporting local events, or working as a DJ at school dances and celebrations throughout the region, he brought joy, energy, and connection to countless lives. Chad embraced each day to the fullest and was a devoted supporter of the city and community he loved so dearly.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 24 years, Jessica (Pollard) Lewis; his sons, Hudson Lewis and Holden Lewis; his father, Gary Lewis and wife Debra; his mother, Janie Johnson and husband Trent; his brother, Cale Lewis; bonus brothers, Bryan McManus and wife Lindy, Jason McManus and wife Christina, and Justin McManus; nieces and nephews, Lydia Lewis, Myles McManus, Josey McManus, Cameron McManus and wife Macy, Hunter McManus, Aubry McManus, Olivia Larrison and husband Josh, Alex Larrison, Aiden Larrison, Wyatt Larrison, Nolan Strong, and Sutton Strong; aunts and uncles, Malinda Gilbert and husband Russell, Susie King, Shelly Kommer and husband Mike, Bettie Stoner and husband Danny, Vickie Pratte and husband Jim, Gary Stephens and wife Cheryl, and Mike “Possum” Stephens; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry “Hank” and Tanya Pollard; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Larrison and husband Rob and Kelsey Strong and husband Aaron; along with several cousins and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Vina Lewis and J.B. and Violet Stephens; his uncles, Terry Michael Lewis and Larry King; and his aunt, Vickie Stephens.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
