Mr. Cecil Henry Westerman, age 92 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 1:32 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Massac Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Emmerson officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery.

Cecil was retired from Electric Energy, Inc., was a life-long member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, and served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Cecil is survived by his daughters, Susan Quattlebaum and husband Chris and Miriam Girtman and husband Brad all of Metropolis, IL; five grandchildren, Jennifer Vieira and husband Sean, John Sauerbrunn and wife Rachael, Jana Sauerbrunn, Ben Girtman and wife Kayla, Kristin Calhoun and husband Daniel; nine great grandchildren, Jacob Vieira, Nicholas Vieira, Joshua Vieira, Jackson Sauerbrunn, Madison Sauerbrunn, Sydney Girtman, Bennett Girtman, Abigail Girtman, and Jase Calhoun; five step-grandchildren, Jeff Quattlebaum, Scott Quattlebaum, James Quattlebaum, Denise Quattlebaum, and Joseph Quattlebaum; six step-great grandchildren, Jenna Quattlebaum, Jayce Quattlebaum, Mikaela Quattlebaum, Seth Quattlebaum, Lucy Quattlebaum, and Zoe Quattlebaum; one sister-in-law, Helen Westerman; niece and nephews, Carla Westerman, Ed Westerman, and Donnie Koch.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Amanda (Obermark) Westerman; wife of 46 years, Frieda (Foss) Westerman; brother, Cletis F. Westerman; sister, Mary Frances Koch; nephew, Ronnie Koch.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church from 1 pm until the funeral at 3 pm.

Pallbearers will be John Sauerbrunn, Ben Girtman, Daniel Calhoun, Adam Westerman, Donnie Koch, Gavin Riepe, J.T. Obermark, and Kevin Obermark.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Bremer, Reuben Bremer, Eugene Fletcher, Carl Mescher, and Sean Vieira.
