Mrs. Carolyn Rose Stoker, 76, of Urbana, IL, formerly of Metropolis, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana, IL.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. Don LaBrot will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Carolyn was a lifelong member of Lighthouse Assembly of God and attended Happy Hearts. She was employed at the Good Luck Glove Factory for several years. Mrs. Stoker's early interests included bowling, softball, and music. She loved God, her family and friends.In 2010, Mrs. Stoker relocated to Urbana, IL, to be near her son after suffering a stroke. She resided at Champaign County Nursing Home until her death. Her family is thankful for those three special years, where she was able to enjoy family meals and gatherings and welcome two new great-grandchildren during that time.Carolyn is survived by her son, Cliff (Krisy) Stoker of Philo, IL; 6 grandchildren, Sarah (David) Crain of Lawrenceville, GA, Leah (Ben) Wenger of Champaign, IL, Rebekah (Josh) Thomas of Grapevine, TX, Josiah Stoker of Mill River, NC, and Kate Stoker and Austin Stoker both of Philo, IL; 5 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Faith and Rose Willoughby and Cohen and Claire Wenger; 1 sister, Betty (Art) Bunch of Lone Oak, KY; 2 nephews and 1 niece.She was preceded in death by her parents, H. Glenn and Effie (Heflin) Halcom; her husband of over 47 years, Ronald Stoker, and her brother Paul Halcom.Friends may call to the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home on Tuesday evening July 9, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.Memorials may take the form of donations to the Lighthouse Assembly of God 670 Airport Road Metropolis, IL 62960.
