Carolyn Sue (Cromeenes) Foss, age 72 of Grantsburg, IL passed away at 6:38 am on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at her residence.Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. Roy Lee Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.Carolyn was retired from the University of Illinois Ag Center at Dixon Springs, IL, attended the St. Stephens Lutheran Church, was the Past Matron of the Lily of the Valley Chapter of the Order Eastern Star, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and Colonial Dames. Carolyn Sue Cromeenes and James Foss were united in marriage on June 7, 1964 at the First Baptist Church in Metropolis.Carolyn is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Foss of Grantsburg; 2 daughters, Angela Jo (Foss) English of Grantsburg, and Mollie Jean Foss of Metropolis; 2 grandsons, Ryan James English of Grantsburg and Chase Reed Wilson of Metropolis; brother, Jim Cromeenes and wife Mary Ann of Metropolis; sisters, Jean Caldwell of Vienna and Alice Persson of Metropolis; several nieces and nephews.Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Reed and Ella (Baker) Cromeenes; 1 daughter, Amy Sue Foss; 1 brother, Bill Cromeenes.Visitation will be held on Monday evening December 22, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.Memorials may be made to the Massac County Historical Society, Pope County Historical Society, c/o Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home, P.O.
