Carl Medley, 83 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Visitation will be held Monday evening, July 13, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Gospel Assembly Church in Paducah, KY, with Bro. Bon Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Carl worked at Missouri Portland Cement and retired from Massac Unit #1 School District. He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church and was an avid motorcyclist and outdoorsman. Carl was a “jack of all trades” and not one to sit around. He loved to stay busy, and in doing so, helped countless people throughout the years. He is going to be missed by all that loved and knew him.

Carl is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kaythern Medley; three sons, Ken Medley and wife Paula, Kelly Medley and wife Lalah, and Jake Medley and wife Erica; grandchildren, Paige Melcher (Aaron), Isaac Medley (Caitlyn), Luke Medley, Jared Medley (Madelynne), and Jack Medley; great grandchildren, Indy Medley, and Emma, Macii, Annie, and Sadee Medley; one brother, Eugene Medley; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Margaret Medley; brothers, Claude “C.M.” Medley and Elmer Medley; and sister, Virginia White.
