Bruce Bauer, 73 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Bro. Justin Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Bruce grew up in Metropolis and worked for many years for security at Honeywell. He then went to sales for O'Reilly's Auto Parts until his retirement last year. He appreciated getting to spend time with all his friends, and especially enjoyed playing pool with them. Liking the outdoors, he also had many good times hunting and fishing. He will be missed by many.

Bruce is survived by his cousins, Pamela Kerley Lee (Robert) of Newnan, GA, and Tom Kerley (Lynda) of Paducah, KY; as well as a large number of very devoted friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Florence Bauer, and his two brothers, Brian and Bradley.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, June 14th.

Memorial contributions may be given in Bruce's name to Sully's Billiards, 318 Scott Street, Metropolis, IL 62960 to donate toward the free kids meals they provide every Tuesday in the summer (write Kids Meals in the memo) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
