Brittany Miller, age 33 of Brookport, Illinois passed away at 8:38 pm on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Baptist Health Paducah. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. David Deem will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Brittany was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She graduated from Massac County High School in 2001, Shawnee Community College, and Rend Lake College. She was employed with Tennessee Valley Authority for 6 years. Brittany is survived by her wife Samantha Miller; daughters, Harper Jolene Miller and Avery Jean Miller; parents, Donald and Vicki Miller; siblings, Brandi Holder and husband Jason, Cody Miller and wife Kayela; mother-in-law, Christine LaRoe and husband Jerry; father-in-law, Rondell Smith and Janie Harris; brother-in-law, Rondell Smith and wife Mary; nieces and nephews, Lola and Reese Holder, Cameron and Vivian Miller, Bailey Smith; grandmother, Phyllis Gibbs; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Brittany was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Benny Compton, James "Cliff" Gibbs; aunt, Tracey Compton Gibbs. Visitation will be held on Friday evening September 2, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
