Brenda Jean (Smith) Harrington, age 67 of Metropolis, Illinois departed this earthly life to meet her Lord and Savior face to face on Friday, March 12, 2021 at her residence with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with her family officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery. We encourage those attending the service and visitation to wear a face covering and practice customarily accepted social distancing.

Brenda was a retired LPN, having served her community for several years working at Massac Memorial Hospital. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 46 years, Thomas Eugene Harrington; daughters, Me'Lissa Evans and husband Donald; Heather Spurlin and husband David, Lyndsay Swader; step daughter, Felicia Parr; grandchildren, Jessica Lee and husband Austin, Jared Spurlin, Danielle Evans, Ethan Swader, Desiree Mathis, Carl Wulff, Thomas Harrington, Nikki Callahan, Rebecca Collister, Seth Harrington, Chairty Neill, Sherry Little; great grandchildren, Camdyn Evans, Caroline Lee, Clayton Lee, Calissa Lee, Caleb Lee; sisters, Mary Herron, Patricia Sanders, Debra Shipley, Roberta Roper; several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Milburn Smith and Opal Frances (Irby) English; step son, David Harrington; brothers, Eugene Smith, James Smith, Richard Smith, Roger Smith, Robert English.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening March 15, 2021 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the funeral home in Brenda's name to help with funeral expenses.

Pallbearers will be David Spurlin, Donald Evans, Jared Spurlin, Cody Peck, Earl Herron, Carl Wulff.
