Boyd Richard Stewart, age 71, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Mercy Health in Paducah.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. David Siere officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites.

Mr. Stewart was a member and deacon of Brookport First Baptist Church. Boyd was retired from USEC, a member of the NRA and a United States Army Vietnam veteran.

Boyd is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alma; two daughters, Cindy Dyer and Melissa Meyer and husband Adam; Son, Richard Stewart and wife Shelly; eight grandchildren, Haleigh Moore (Austin), Daniele Murray, Hunter Dyer, Madelyn Stewart, Jase Stewart, Lillian Meyer, Gabriel Meyer, Hannah Meyer; two great grandchildren, Charleigh and Nora Moore; one sister-in-law, Julie Stewart; nephews, Clay Stewart (Pam) and Jon Stewart (Lisa) among several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Lillian (Kennedy) Stewart; one brother, Bob Stewart.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10th from 9 am until the funeral at 11 am at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis.
