Mrs. Bonnie Kay Burrus, age 70, of Brookport, IL, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at her home with family and friends by her side.Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the Pell Cemetery. Rev. Charles Tate will officiate. Bonnie was a member of the Brookport Church of God.Bonnie is survived by her husband, Donald Burrus of Brookport, IL; daughters, Janet Burrus, Shelly Johnson both of Palm Bay, FL, and Sharla Lynn of Brookport, IL; son, James Burrus and wife Hiesha of Brookport, IL; 2 sisters, Betty Slankard and Peggy Reynolds both of Oxford, FL; 6 grandsons, James Jr., Dylan, Devin, Sterleng, Jared, and Johnathan; 1 great grandson, Johnathan Ross Jr.; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends, Ann and Cindy. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nannie Owens; grandson, Kevin Ross Burrus; mother and father-in-law, Ross Burrus Jr. and Lillion Burrus; several Brother and Sister-in-Laws; nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.There will not be any visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the services.Memorials may be made to the Brookport Church of God, P.O.
