Mrs. Blanche Benson, age 94 of Metropolis, IL passed away at 8:05 am on Monday, June 10, 2013 at her residence.Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 14, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Rev. Lauren Ley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Blanche was retired from Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Rebekah Lodge.Blanche is survived by 4 daughters, Cleone Larson and husband Larry of Salt Lake City, UT, Arlis Benson of Karnak, IL, Cherl Haggenjos and husband Jeff of New Lexington, OH, and Rhonda Rodriguez and husband Al of Brookfield, WI; 1 son, Mark Benson and wife Debra of Brookport, IL; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Arthur Iverson and wife Charlene of Washington, IL; several nieces and nephews.Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Sigvart and Nina (Hultquist) Iverson; husband of 58 years, Arthur Benson; 1 grandson, Brandon Haggenjos; 1 sister, Alice Hughes.Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis and on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 9 am until the funeral hour at the church.Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, P.O.
