Mr. Billy Joe Powell, 47, of Metropolis, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Kirkendall Cemetery in Massac County, IL, with Rev. Bobby Parker officiating with burial to follow. There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. to process to the cemetery. Billy was a member of the American Legion Post 306. Billy is survived by his daughter, Allison Dukek and husband Adam; one grandson, Tucker Dukek; two sisters, Misty Powell and Terri Abernathy and husband Jonathan; one brother, Mike Powell; five nieces, Kassy Horstman, Melanie Powell, Katelyn Yates, Whitney Powell, and Jamia Powell. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jody Powell; father, Billy R. Powell; grandparents, William Powell, Daisy Powell, Barbara and Jack Smith, and Charlie Cochran.
