Betty Collins Walters, 92 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Micah Spicer officiating.

Betty was a member of the First Christian Church. She loved all animals but was particularly fond of horses, enjoyed watching wildlife and dancing and listening to music. Most importantly though, she loved her family.

Betty is survived by her husband of almost 18 years, Phil Walters; daughter, Linda F. Lester; son, Larry R. Collins (Teresa); grandchildren, Christy VanCleve (Eric), Larry R. Collins Jr. (Gwen), and Laresa West (Nathan); great grandchildren, Hunter Woley, Mason Woley, Cameron Collins, Carter Collins, Mercer West and Chandler West; brother, Don Byerly (Barbara); several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay Byerly and Hestel (Fulton) Sexton; daughter, Brenda Collins; son, Troy Collins; son-in-law, Dean Lester; grandson, David Bailey.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18th at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
