Mrs. Betty Swenney, age 80, of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Thursday, September 04, 2014 at Baptist Health Paducah.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. Buford McGuire officiating.Mrs. Swenney was a retired member of the Rebecca Lodge and a member of the Upper Salem Baptist Church.Betty is survived by her daughters, Ruth E. Seibert and husband Bill of Paducah, KY and Rose M. Swenney and fiancé Bud Irwin of Terra Haute, IN; sons, John R. Swenney and wife Vicki of Metropolis, Gerald W. Swenney of Metropolis, and Kevin D. Swenney and wife Stacy of Newnan, GA; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Joe Ramsey of Milan, IL; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Lee and Edith (King) Ramsey; husband, John C. Swenney; son, Howard E. Swenney; granddaughter, Virginia Powers; and 9 brothers and sisters.There will be no visitation.
