Mrs. Bernice (Jeffords) Jones, age 76 of Brookport, IL, passed away at 11:39 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Baptist Health of Paducah.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Brookport Church of God with Rev. Charles Tate and Rev. Doug Bowers Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Otterbein Cemetery in Pope County, IL.Bernice was a member of the Brookport Church of God where she was a member of the Hilltoppers.Bernice is survived by 3 daughters, Cathy Hale and husband Nelson of Union City, TN, Linn Welch and husband Steve of Brookport, and Carrie Edwards and special friend Meagan Tidwell of Brookport; 2 sons, David Brannum and wife Debbie of Brookport, and Aubrey Edwards and wife Jennie of Cypress, IL; 8 grandchildren, Victoria Long of Marion, KY, Kagan Brannum of Dover, DE, Cody Dresser of Metropolis, Taylor Brannum of Brookport, Jenna Edwards and Haley Edwards of Cypress, IL, Dylan Curtis and Destiny Curtis of Brookport; 4 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Melvin Jeffords and wife Nadine, Aubrey Jeffords and wife Linda and Alan Jeffords and wife Cindy all of New Liberty, IL; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Maudie (Owens) Jeffords; and her husband, Rev.
