Barbara Marie Crawford, who loved to be called "Momma" by her kids, and " Maw Maw" by her grandchildren, departed peacefully with her loving family by her side on September 1, 2024. She was 74 years old.

Barbara was born in Paducah, KY at Riverside Hospital on December 2, 1949 to her parents Opal (Shelby) and Robert Dossett, who also preceded her in death.

Barbara was mother to Kathy Meinders and Sammy Dewayne Crawford. She raised her children with love in Bardwell, KY with her husband, Sammy Crawford.

Barbara was known for her love of crocheting hats and putting together quilts. Her hobbies included reading, sewing on her sewing machine and her favorite past time, playing bingo (for prizes). She was a collector of many things, and anything with the themes of the holidays. She loved Christmas and was known to have overflowing Christmas decorations put out in October. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Sammy Crawford; 2 children, Kathy Meinders (Doug) and Sammy Dewayne Crawford (Angela); 3 grandchildren, Bradley Meinders (Chelsie), Cody Crawford (Sereena), and Brittany Crawford; 2 great grandchildren, Madeline Ida and Eloise Kay Meinders.

Aside from the children and grandchildren she loved, Barbara is survived by a sister Brenda Dixon and a brother Robert Earl Dossett, both of Paducah; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. that evening. A private burial will be held at a later date.
