Autumn Nicole Smith, 38 of Metropolis passed from this earth to her eternal heavenly home on July 31, 2021 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. Autumn was born at Western Baptist Hospital/Baptist Health in Paducah, KY on October 31, 1982 to  father Terry Smith and mom Linda.

She began her childhood in Brookport before moving around as her father served in the military. In her high school years and shortly after Autumn lived in the Aurora, CO before returning to Brookport, IL.  In 2012 shortly after the passing of her Grandmother Frances Kennedy Autumn repented of her sins and trusted Christ as her Savior. She was baptized May 13, 2013 and attended First Baptist Church in Metropolis, IL  for the past 9 years. If you visited the church you likely met Autumn as she was extremely active serving wherever she was needed.  She ministered in many areas such as Garden ministry, counseling, Bible School, Crafts, Outreach in the community, Discipleship groups and maybe her most famous role as the greeter of greeters at First Baptist. Everyone who entered the doors met Autumn Smith, her smile,  and a big friendly "hello" or "welcome" visited her church family and guests.  In her personal time Autumn loved cats especially her Snow who passed away this past year. She loved to knit/crochette and was always sharing her latest designs as gifts for her friends and family.

Autumn was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her father Terry Smith of Brookport, IL and mother Linda Kennedy Beyer of Keenesburg, Colorado. Half sister Adrianna Reza of Colorado, and Uncle David Smith and wife Cindi  of Florida as well as other cousins.

A memorial / celebration service will be held Wednesday night August 4, 2021 at 6 PM at First Baptist Church in Metropolis, IL.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to First Baptist Church Attn Autumn Smith Memorial 307 Massac Creek Road Metropolis, IL 62960.
