Wilma Altenberger Obituary
Mrs. Wilma Altenberger, age 78, of Metropolis, IL, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Wilma is survived by two daughters, Kathy Jo Little and husband Harvey of Metropolis and Jenny Thomasson and husband Terry of Chickamauga, GA; four sons, David Alten and wife Janet of Henderson, KY, Chris Altenberger and wife Trinka of Herrin, IL, Harold Altenberger and wife Gina of Metropolis and Daryl Altenberger of Metropolis; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Also, two brothers, David Henry of Dongola, IL and Vernon Henry and wife Jean of Cypress, IL; one sister, Velma Warren of Tacoma, WA; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert William and Katie (Eastwood) Henry; husband of 41 years, Joseph Altenberger; nine brothers and sisters, Leora, Charlie, Johnny, Thadus, Owen, DeRay, Ocie, Hazel, and Martha; one infant brother, Olan; one grandson; one great grandson; two great-great granddaughters; one great-great grandson.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 from 6 to 8pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
Pallbearers: Terry Thomasson Harvey Little, David Alten, Chris Altenberger, Harold Altenberger, Darold Altenberger
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
