Stanford Welch Obituary
Stanford Welch, age 91 of Brookport, Illinois passed away at 2:05 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home. Rev. David Siere will officiate. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Cypress, Illinois with military rites.
Stanford was retired after 35 years of service with Martin Marietta where he worked as a painter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brookport and the VFW. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Stanford is survived by his wife of 69 years, Wilma Welch of Brookport, IL; daughter, Brenda Trujillo and husband Gerard of Wheat Ridge, CO; sons, James Welch and wife Julie and Steve Welch and wife Linn all of Brookport, IL; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson & 1 on the way; several nieces and nephews.
Stanford was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Vista Mae (Ray) Welch; sisters, Velma Mahan and Dorthea Bernard; brother, Lewis Ray Welch.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home.
Memorial may be made to First Baptist Church, 700 Pell Road, Brookport, Illinois 62910.
Pallbearers will be James Welch, Steve Welch, Jason Henderson, Shane Armon, and Cody Armon.
