Sharon Rucker Obituary
Sharon Louise Rucker, age 71, of Golconda, IL, went to see her King at 3:33 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Baptist Health.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday May 19, 2017 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Bro. Jake Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis.
Mrs. Rucker was born in Huntington Station, Long Island, NY on October 7, 1945 to Kenneth Edward and Viola Mae (Jetter) Gross. She attended school in Metropolis, IL Pekin, IL, and Avon IN and graduated college from the University of Alabama. She had a love of life, God, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and attended Family Praise and Worship Center.
Sharon is survived by her five children, Richard Martin Bluejacket Rucker, Vickie Renee Rucker Myrick and husband Jeremiah, Laura Lee Lang English and husband Danny, Kenneth Russell Rucker and Marion Shannon Rucker Leonard and husband Nathan; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Marion Russell Rucker Jr.
Visitation will be held from 11 am until the funeral hour at 1 pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home on Friday, May 19th.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
