Lindell Norwood Obituary
Mr. Lindell C. Norwood, age 77, of Metropolis, IL, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his home.
A celebration of life will be held from 7-8pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 for Lindell and his wife of 15 years, Marsha who passed in May of 2017 at the Spence Community Center in Metropolis.
Mr. Norwood was retired from the Labors Local 773 and Olmstead Lock and Dam. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 282.
Lindell is survived by seven children, Diane Davis and companion Louis Pearcy of Brookport, IL, Lindell Norwood Jr. and wife Arlene of Sasebo, Japan, RoseAnn Powell and husband Darrell of Joppa, Julie McDuffee of Metropolis, Teresa Edwards and husband Mark of Metropolis, Lisa Phillips and husband Danny of Joppa, Benjemin Norwood and wife Teresa of Metropolis; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Dent of Herrin, IL; seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milfred Norwood; mother, Reba (Stephens) Fritz; 1st wife, Shirley Norwood; 2nd wife, Marsha Norwood; three brothers, Vernon Norwood, Warren Norwood and Carl Norwood; one sister, Carol Sue Norwood.
In lieu of flowers, Lindell requested that memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
