Barbara Fulkerson Obituary
Barbara Rose Fulkerson, 89, passed away on July 17, 2017 at 1:29 p.m. at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky. She was born January 8, 1928 in Joppa, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Metropolis Memorial Gardens in Metropolis, IL, with Rev. Keith Tilford officiating. There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Barbara is survived by one daughter, Beth (Bobby) Bennett of Mayfield, KY, and one son, Scott (Chris) Fulkerson of Metropolis; three grandchildren, Ashley (Jonathan) Estes of Henderson, TN, Jamie (Jon) Dunn of Benton, KY and Beau (Sasha) Bennett of Mayfield, KY; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brady and Blanche Sigler; her husband, Floyd "Poke" Fulkerson; her sister, Margaret Davidson; her brother, Stewart Sigler; and her grandson, Weston Fulkerson.
Mrs. Fulkerson was a member of the First Christian Church in Metropolis and a retired school teacher of over 40 years in the Massac Unit 1 School District. She was also a member of the Fort Massac Saddle Club. Barbara enjoyed reading, loved spending time with her dog, playing bridge with friends and was a faithful trailrider every year at the 9-Day Trail Ride.
