Travis Lee Girtman

Travis Lee Girtman age 35 of Metropolis, IL, passed away June 8, 2019 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY, with his loving family by his side.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Aikins-Farmer Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Buchanan officiating. Burial to follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Born August 12, 1983, Travis was a 2002 graduate of Massac County High School. He was employed at Big John’s of Metropolis and TJ Maxx of Paducah, KY. He loved seeing people and visiting with them. Travis was an active member of First Baptist Church Metropolis where he served as an usher and a nursery worker for many years. He was an avid sports fan and loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, and MSU Racers and enjoyed attending baseball and football games. Travis was a huge movie buff and enjoyed collecting them and going to the show.

Travis is survived by his parents, Charles E. “Chuck” and Donna (Brumley) Girtman; one brother, Samuel Girtman; one grandmother, Catherine Brumley; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Laura Girtman and Ado Brumley.

Visitation will be Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Aikins-Farmer Loftus McManus Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday, June 11th from 9 am until the funeral hour.

Memorials may be given in Travis’ name to First Baptist Church Metropolis 307 Massac Creek Road Metropolis, IL 62960 or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
