Ronald Matthews Obituary
Ronald E. Matthews, age 54 of Kentucky passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. William Barrett officiating.
Ronald worked as a First Mate with TECO Barge Line, was of the Baptist faith, and served in the Navy as an AW.
Ronald is survived by his mother, Lela Matthews of Metropolis; 2 brothers, Robert Matthews Jr. and wife Billie Kaye of FL and Wayne Matthews of TX; 1 niece, Jessica Matthews of TX; 1 great nephew, R.J. Bachelder of TX; 3 aunts, 2 uncles, and several cousins.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Robert Matthews Sr.; maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents; 5 uncles and 1 aunt.
Visitation was held on Thursday morning April 26, 2018 prior to the graveside service at Miller-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis.
Memorials may be made in Ronald's memory to the Union Baptist Association, P.O. Box 29, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
Music was provided by Donna Sue Kossow and Beth Clanahan.
Pallbearers were Robert Matthews Jr., Wayne Matthews, Paul Rhymer, Lucas Raye, Darrell Darnell, and Kelly Jennings.
Honorary pallbearers were Janice Konemann, Billie Matthews, and Crystal Raye.
