Phillip “Flop” Larrison, age 77 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 12:19 pm on Monday, November 11, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Pastors Tom Emmerson and Charles Tate officiating.
Phillip worked for R & W Marine, James Marine, and retired from Ingram Barge Line after 33 years of working on the river. He was a guest member of the American Legion, where he helped put out flags for over 30 years; a charter member of the Massac Gun Club, an avid Nascar fan, an avid Cardinals fan, and loved to hunt and fish.
Even though he did not have any children of his own, he was blessed to have had the privilege of raising 13 children.
Phillip is survived by his wife, who was his world, of 29 years, Teresa Larrison; son, Travis Nugent; grandchildren, Tyler and Mackenzie; daughter-in-law, Danyelle Miller and husband Brian; sister, Lu Scarbrough and husband Ron; brother, Bob Larrison and wife Annette; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Shelby.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Golda (Hart) Larrison; sisters, Ruth Metcalf and Louise Webber; brothers, Lowell, Bill, Kenny, and Ed Larrison.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
