Pearlie "Tockie" Turnage

Pearlie Mae “Tockie” Turnage, age 62 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 8:35 am on Friday, December 20, 2019 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, December 30, 2019 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis with Rev. Orlando McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery.

Pearlie graduated from Francis Parker High School, was baptized at an early age at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Turner, and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis.

Pearlie is survived by her daughter, Angel Sims and husband Timothy; grandchildren, Timothy Maison Sims and Eyvonne Moye Sims; father, Jeff Turnage; sisters, Vanessa Turnage and Ethel Lee Turnage; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Pearlie was preceded in death by her grandson, De’Angelo Sims; mother, Theresa (Cherry) Turnage; companion, Harold Sparks; sister, Mary Ann Jones; brother, Jeff Turnage Jr.; niece, Carolyn Little.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour of 12 noon at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Turnage, Uri Jones, Eddie Jones, Davelle Turnage, George Reed, and Timothy Sims.
